Thinking about the future
In 10 years from now, the web could be a totally different environment. Along with that I envision that we’ll be at IE 14, Safari 10, and Firefox 5.0.
Its seems that Firefox, due to it’s opensource and already rich nature for expansion by the end user will just come to a point where it will become stable and not need anymore improvements. Â
IE & Safari will never be perfected, they will never get it right as long as it’s proprietary.  Users create where the web is going.  As long as the user does not have access to change what’s already out of date, they will always be one step behind, and it only hinders us more than advances us.
Lazy Weekend
This was a good weekend. Â Val had off, we watched a bunch of movies, and I’ve gotten a lot of work done sofar. Â I also bit the bullet and ran the Wordpress 2.5 update, re-configured all my plugins and installed the gravatar system for blog comments, works pretty sweet too. Â If you havn’t setup a gravatar yet, jump over and set one up here. Â Super simple and just makes life easy for blog posting. Â The new WP is fantastic, no problems yet, and the new admin is killer.
Eco-Safe PDF’s are sexyier than evar.
I spent some time working and finessing the render process and now we’re generating the best looking PDF’s we can based on popular demand. Â Give it a shot! Convert this post and let me know what you think. By the way if you’re using IE you won’t see the link to download a PDF since I’m having issues with compatibilty and it’s stupid popup blocker rules. You can however send a PDF to yourself.

New Toy: Sigma 10-22mm f4-5.6 Wideangle Lens
I finally broke down and bought a wideangle, this new baby is sweet. Â I wanted if for our trip to Mexico in a week, but really looking forward to using it for the China trip in a month and a half. Â After reading reviews and reviews, debating over this or the Canon 10-20mm, I realize that since I still don’t have a full-frame DSLR, it’s really not worth spending the extra money for anything more. Â One of these days when I can justify popping another few grand for another camera, I suppose I’ll figure it out then. Â I’m hoping sometime this week if I have the time to do a little photowalk and snap a few shots. Â I need to put some usage in my Flickr account again.
I should be launching 2 of my most recent projects this week, stay tuned and I’ll be posting all the fun stuff in the next few days. In the meantime, Die Hard just came on A&E HD. Â I know where I’ll be for the next two hours. Â Heh.
Choices
That looks about right.
Random Thought
If nature is to mother, wouldn’t holy be to father?
..think about it.
Wild Animals
Danny from American Idol
Ok so me an Val were watching TV the other night and we caught the end of American Idol.. you tell me, doesn’t this Danny guy remind you of someone?
Jessica Alba’s brother? it has to be.. it’s really freaking me out.
New Year, New Opportunity
Yesterday officially started the new year, but my new attitude kicked in about 2.5 weeks ago, I’m ready and already on the grind for an awesome new start to a great new year.
This last year has been one of the most confusing, challenging and financially maddening for me yet. At the age of 22, i felt 30.. I’m not even going to say what it felt like a month ago. But that said, I’m looking forward to a lot of great fun and success in 2008, and i’ve taken a lot of opportunity and chance to get there. I mentioned before that, yea, I’m not dead and a lot of change was happening for me and Val. The big news is that I’m now back to fulltime freelance working as a developer/programmer and actually going to attempt to peruse my favorite hobby of photography for part-time profit where I can. I’ve been selected by about 4 stock photoraphy sites as a contributor, but haven’t even had the effort to submit a shot in the last 2 years. I really want to start using the opportunities I’m being given rather then pissing them away because “I’m too busy”.
I have good partnerships with 3 big creative firms that I’m getting a majority of my work from, and finally, I have fun & challenging work that I get to look forward to, all the time. So far just in the last month I’ve been working on two pretty nice gigs. An internet streaming TV station, and a pilot application for the new Android platform that’s getting a lot of PR by the “googlephone”. It’s a great feeling to be making some nice cash, working from home with the dog and enjoying life just that much more.
Anyhow, enough about that. I’m hoping to finally start living up to my goals of being a technology contributor to the web - in kind. Write code, give back to the community, and enjoy the level of geekdom I live by and brag about, heh. Anyone who knows me pretty much knows what I’m talking about.
I’m working on a new name for myslef, sort of a feeling for how I want to approach my new outlook on a “day job”. So hopefully I can get this little blog back up and running with something worthwhile, and finally have a site i’m proud of to show and run by as I promote photography/web and what I love doing so much. For now tho, I’m waiting for UPS to deliver my copy of Heima, and I’m off to go secure a new desk for the office.. which is finally, my new office rather then the extra room in our apartment.
