Engagement In Balboa
A few weekends back I headed out to San Diego to shoot some engagement photos of Krystle and Chris. I’ll be shooting their wedding as well, but we decided to have some fun at the part. The lighting was perfect (and never long enough) but we still got some great shots. Heres a few of my favorites. Can’t wait for the wedding.

Nothing like a little conan-esque mouthover replacement for a proof of concept. The ending is fantastic.

Greetings from Pittsburgh
So we’re just about to head out of PA on our flight back to LA. I went with Carl (boss man) & Nycole (copywriter extraordinair) to meet the bigguys that run the schools about our studio’s relationship and where we want to be for the next few years. We went in with the notion that we actually may loose some business, but to our surprise (well, we weren’t giving up without a flight), we worked with them to the point of getting all campuses under our belt. As of yesterday we had about 25 of the 38+ schools, now we have them all. NDA’s say we can’t talk much about it, but we’re really happy, and solved a LOT of problems/questions that just needed a face-to-face discussion to resolve.
It’s exciting to be part of my studio’s growth and know that I’m responsible for the high-level technical portion of our expansion. Looking forward to a busy, but damn good rest of the year.

Bloomberg: The Redesign
Anyone who’s ever been to Bloomberg.com, knows it’s not the most lush site on the internets. And most people that visit probably don’t go back. If you’re like me and have the need for financial news, you probably just hit up google news or msn. But with any luck that will change as three huge firms are up for the task of a full-frontal-facelift. Portfolio.com has a nice writeup on the project.
It’s always interesting to watch other firms bid on a project. To see the difference in style, thought process and user direction take place. When you know more about the company and the way they approach the design in general, it makes for a nice comparison. Personally, I like the IDEO design. The Ziba comp seems more like a screen grab from The Bourne Ultimatum (amazing movie by the way).
