Back from NYC


Ah yes, a vacation not for the faint-hearted. It’s been a while since I’ve just went on vacation to enjoy, well, last time was Europe. It was great, took a red-eye out last Thursday night and landed at JFK around 7am, just in time to wake up Sandeep & Jay from getting in 2 hrs before. Since it was so jam packed in traffic for Friday morning, I couldn’t make Jay come get me, so I bought the Yellow Cab guy a tank of gas, and then some, to sit in traffic for an hour and a half, listening to morning hymnals.

After a 2 hour catch-up nap, turned on the tube and saw that some FAA glitch in Atlanta was causing some serious ruckus in the air and on the ground, luckily I missed that or I would have landed at noon. We went into the city for a few and had some breakfast for lunch, then went to Jay’s gig - Sandbar, in the Jersey Shore. Always nice rolling in, private dj booth, tray of drinks delivered.. and of course chilling on the patio by the bar watching the yachts roll by.

After Sandbar we headed into the city for Pacha, Richie Hawtin and Danny Teneglia! Since we were waiting for a few friends before we got in, we walked the streets in downtown with beers. But once we got in, talk about some serious sets. Richie was amazing but danny re-defined it. Every mix on point, energy the whole morning and we didn’t get home until 9am that morning. Crashed for a few and did breakfast for lunch again, picked up a rental car and headed to the hamptons to see Jonathan Peters. This, ended up being a huge disappointment that Deep and I just weren’t ready for. He was horrible, and we have no clue why. But after flying from California, renting a car, driving 140 miles through Long Island, getting told off by the steroid enhanced stuck-up bouncer for not having shoes that were appropriate in “the hamptons” and the stupid chick at the pizzarea that couldnt understand Deep can’t have cheese.. we were ready to just turn around. Instead we waited it out and well yea, it’s been said. But there was light at the end of the dark road, we drove back to Manhatten and met Jay and a few buddies back at Pacha to watch Boris spin, again, another great night of awesome music. Got home at 10:30a or so after droping the rental off, and me leaving my iPod in the car (*sigh*).

After hanging out and catching up on a few things it was time to head home. In the end, my plane that was supposed to board at 8:55p and get to LA at midnight, boarded at 10p and we didnt get home till 5am. Re-dic-ulous.

So, I’m finally caught back up, plan on blogging a few when i get a chance today and tomorrow, check back in a few. Here’s some goodies from the weekend. Need to upload some of the videos to the You Tubes, I’ll post them in a bit.
