Boot Camp Update Supports Vista
The new Boot Camp Beta update fixed all the problems I was having with vista. Now this Macbook Pro runs even better than before. New audio drivers, the iSight works perfect, and even the trackpad is supported with the two finger scroll, talk about a lifesaver.
Boot Camp 1.2 beta includes:
- Support for Windows Vista (32-bit)
- Updated drivers, including but not limited to trackpad, AppleTime (synch), audio, graphics, modem, iSight camera
- Support the Apple Remote (works with iTunes and Windows Media Player)
- A Windows system tray icon for easy access to Boot Camp information and actions
- Improved keyboard support for Korean, Chinese, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, Russian, and French Canadian
- Improved Windows driver installation experience
- Updated documentation and Boot Camp on-line help in Windows
- Apple Software Update (for Windows XP and Vista)
Really awesome. Vista runs better than before and the Bluetooth manager works really well also. Now if I had a bluetooth phone, I bet it would work even better.

Time for Updates
By far one of my new favorite prompts.
Creative Suite CS3
For anyone who’s ever used any of these programs, you know just how far they’ve come and now how amazing just these taste of features are. For someone in the web world, the ability to export an xhtml layout directly from the layout application is huge, not to mention the Illustrator -> Flash integration.
I’ve been using the Photoshop CS3 Beta for a bit now and love the new features they’ve thrown in. Processing on this MacBook Pro with the Univ. Binaries is fantastic, effects and filters process like no other. The intelligent selection tool is incredible too.. I feel like this release will spawn a whole new level of creativity from artists all over. That is until you can export to Flex.. hehe.

Net Neutrality Open Source Documentary
Just finished watching this documentary on Net Neutrality and I highly recommend it to anyone who is confused or unaware of the issue at hand. My favorite thing about this short, is the fact that everything about it is what we stand for in saving the internet. The creator/editor asks people to tag their clips so he can gather and produce the media and then distribute it. *applause*
One of my new favorite quotes from the man himself, the creator of “The Internet”:
Freedom of connection with any application to any party is the fundamental social basis of the internet, and now its the basis of the society we’ve built on the internet

Last Weekend

This last weekend, Val & I, and the family took a little trip up to Laughlin, NV for my grandpa’s wedding. He’s not new at it, but he sure made a handsome groom and my new grandmother was a very stunning bride. We had a great time, it was nice to see some of the family for a bit and gamble for the rest.

Can’t quite say I came out on top, but we did have our moments. Blackjack brought the cash in and craps stole it right back.. although val’s 5 7’s in a row was impressive.

Next-gen iMac’s: Redesign?
Apple’s next-generation iMacs to add a touch of grace
This article made me pause for a minute when I saw the headline. Val and I are considering picking up a tiny little mac for our living room, just to make life easy for web-browsing, quick email’age and such. But now it could be worth the wait for a low-end dual core chip and most likely the Leopard release.
Anyone else heard more about this? Typically at this point we wait about a week for some geek to sit on the US Patent office website and watch sketches roll through just so they can be the first moron to post it to digg. But hey, I like surprises.
AppleInsider has learned that Apple’s popular line of iMac personal computers are about to undergo a substantial facelift that will showcase striking new industrial designs aimed at leaving both competitors and onlookers smitten.
People familiar with the matter say the Cupertino-based Mac maker has called upon its award-winning design chief Jonathan Ive and his team to cut the fat from the the current iMac line and outfit a pair of new Core 2 Duo-based models in a form factor that will be both slimmer and sleeker than today’s offerings.
For Apple, the impending iMac makeover will represent the first major industrial design overhaul to hit its flagship all-in-one consumer desktop line in nearly three years. The last eye candy to accompany an iMac update came back in August of 2004, when the company retired its “sunflower” iMac G4 design while introducing the portrait-style iMac G5.
