Artistic designs on Compact Discs

This is such a simple idea, don’t know why I never thought of it before. Do you really need a tutorial for it? Ehh in any case I thought it looked sweet.

CD Designs

Having a lot of CDs around with only a few words labeled on a silver faceplate is painful for the eyes. I have come up with an idea, for the last 2 years, of making your own CD cover by using only a few tools, a walkman, a couple of water-based or permanent marking pens and a clip.

Auschwitz Getting a New Name?

Poland wants Auschwitz renamed - Yahoo! News

Ran accross this article today and knew I needed to post it for Travis mostly, but something just seems wrong to me changing the name of that place. Granted I’ve never been there and didn’t expierence the years of pain it put so many through, feels like it should just be left alone IMHO

AuschwitzWARSAW (Reuters) - Poland is trying to change the name of Auschwitz concentration camp to emphasize that Nazi Germans, not Poles, were responsible for the most murderous center of the Holocaust.

The government has asked the
United Nations to change the name of its World Heritage site from “Auschwitz Concentration Camp” to “the Former Nazi German Concentration Camp of Auschwitz,” despite criticism of the move by some Jewish groups.

Warsaw is incensed by references in foreign media to the “Polish concentration camp” and “Polish gas chambers” to describe the Nazi Auschwitz and Birkenau death camps.

“We cannot continue to ignore repeated publications that defame Poland,” said Jan Kasprzyk, a Culture Ministry official.

“The new name is completely accurate. By stating who was the perpetrator of a war that ended more than 60 years ago, honest mistakes could be avoided,” Kasprzyk added.

Some 1.5 million people, mostly Jews, were murdered at the site, which remains at the heart of sometimes tense Polish-Jewish relations.

Maram Stern from World Jewish Congress accused Warsaw of seeking “to redefine history by changing the (Auschwitz) name,” comments which stirred uproar in Poland.

“Although the camp had been built and run by Nazi Germany, everyone in the area had known about its existence and workers were recruited from the Polish population in the neighboring village,” Stern said in a statement.

The Polish government denies the recruitment allegation and says Allied powers could have done more to halt the genocide by bombing the camp by plane.

Most Jewish groups said a name switch would not change much.

Europe: ETA 5 Days

Ahhh yea it’s getting close. I can’t wait.

It’s funny too. I kept thinking that the closer it got the more excited and scared I’d be. But the truth is, I still can’t believe I’m finally going back. Strange feeling, you know? I think of how much has changed in my life from where I was 3 years ago to where I am now. It’s really unbelivable and I’m so fortunate and blessed, I just forget how well I’ve made out for one reason or another couple. I know I probably sound like a prude-moron at this point but I don’t care, it’s the truth that I have a great relationship with my sweetheart, my friends & my family who I love so much. Sometimes I wonder where my life would be with any of those three out of the picture and it just amazes me to see how much of an impact all of them have had on me, and I can’t be thankful enough.

2003 = 4 European countries in 1.5 weeks
2006 = 3 European countries in almost 3 weeks

Big difference, It’s going to be great to wake up in the morning, go down to the local cafe and have a coffee, walk around & take pictures while the gorgeous lil lady shops and just enjoy it. Hopefully we’re not rained out everywhere we go, I think it looks pretty promising, but in anycase, we’re ready to make the best of it.

Had a great night hangin out with Anthony tonight too, saw The Benchwarmers, hilarious flick. Just good & silly. Jay, your kids would love it. Jordan stopped by too, aparently he’s heading out to Scotland for 9 days. Go figure. Hahaha.

Now, as i sit here sorting all my rolls of film and getting ready for the pilgrimage, I’m starting to think of what [kind of website] I’m going to build when i get back. I should have some video and lots of pics. So we’ll see what comes to me. Needless to say the months of May & June will be seriously busy for me while I scan 400 negs and transfer hours of film onto the black beauty at home.

CAN’T WAIT, YO!
