We Made It
So after around 13 hours of flying, multiple connecting trains, crazy coach rides, cutting in line, warm beer, smoke filled pubs, bad english food and cafe’s with crazy brazillian/french/arabic music playing while I try to type this, were back on terra firma and lovin’ it like a bad mc donalds ad.
Seriously tho, we’re having a blast. It was a bit colder then we thought in London, bt Paris couldn’t be more beautiful. Clear skies and since I remembered my glasses this time I can actaully see past the city. We’re taking lots of pictures, drinking a lot more beer and getting lost in the translation.. all for the sake of a well needed vacation. Val is sitting here watching me type, you may notice my grammar is better then ever before since I have a spell checker smiling and grinning right next to me. Travis, aren’t you proud?
We forgot the cable to transfer photos from the digi cam, so you’l lhave to wait till we return, but we’re lovin’ the weather and the scenery.
More later when we find a cheaper internet cafe.
Au Revoir,
J & V

Europe: ETA 36 Hours
It’s been a wonderful Easter weekend. Woke up to a home-cooked momma breakfast (you just can’t beat that.. period), spent the morning at church with mom and dad, went home some great time with the family, honeybaked ham, all the fillings and more desert then oprah’s guestroom amenities. It was intense. But well worth my weekend trip.
I left around 9pm to head home, knowing family guy would record and the sopranos as well, but after the hour & a half commute home in traffic (love LA) I lucked out on parking and just got all my goods inside. Man, this trip is getting closer and closer. Tonight is my last night in my pad before we hit the airport Tuesday morning. I need to make the most of my bed and clean sheets, haha.
In any case, tomorrow is my last day in Cali ’till May. Crazy. Feels like yesterday was Aug and we booked the tickets.
It’s 11pm here, it’s 8am in paris, and the makings of a beautiful morning. I’m going to grab a beer, charge the iPod, snag a brownie that mom made me, watch me some family guy and call it quits.
Hasta Tomorrow.

Europe: ETA 60 Hours
Well, don’t expect 5 more of these, I’m just posting as I think about it.
It’s 11PM; I’m tired, but I’m awake. I’m eager, but I’m reluctant. I’m hungry, but I’m drinking water. I use head and shoulders, but I don’t have dandruff.. exactally. hahah. Yea couldn’t resist that one. I dunno man, the closer this trip gets, the more I just think about how I can’t wait to step on that plane and watch the world fly by me below. Land in a new place I’ve never been before, walk on the streets with my girl that I never knew existed, and take pictures at my heart’s content with that shitty grin I’ve been waiting for.
I’m sitting here writing this from Dad’s computer and starting to get flashbacks to how I felt the first time around. In 2003 I was still living at home, and I remember everything that went through my mind the night before the big day. Anxiety, anxiousness, fear.. everything I could think of. .. at the time i had just broken out of a 3 year relationship and thought my life was over. Little that I knew it was just about to begin. Now sitting here in my home, my true home where I was raised, the last night I’ll spend here before I leave again, it’s strange to think of how the mind works and what will be curiously different yet oddly farmiliar this time around. I’m excited, and I feel so confident that the second I step out of that terminal in England I know I’m going to have that same feeling of overwhelming joy that completley took me by supprise the first time I took a chance, and checked one more thing of the to-do list of life.
Maybe I’m just tired and felt like writing, but there’s some truth to all of this. I know how much the first time traveling abroad changed my life when I returned home, i long for that feeling again. I’m looking forward to waking up in the morning with a greater outlook in life. I want to explore the artistic talents I know I have but am always too shy to challenge. I want to feel confident that the work I produce is not just good, but great. I want to expierence the easier version of life again, not the expensive, robust & time-consuming version I keep falling into. And most importantly, i want to enjoy 25 while I still have the age in my heart & the $ in my back pocket.
But first, I must sleep.
Look out, yo. Here I come.

IRS Spanks Bush
Haha, oh man, talk about a news flash. Just when you thought you owed this tax season, you’re no-where near as bad as G-W & the 1st Lady.
April 14 (Bloomberg) — President George W. Bush paid $187,768 in taxes on taxable income last year of $618,694, according to returns released today at the White House.
Vice President Dick Cheney and his wife, Lynne, reported owing $529,636 on taxable income of $1,961,157. The couple’s total income in 2005 was $8,824,762, largely as a result of stock options Cheney received before stepping down as chairman of Houston-based Halliburton Co., the world’s largest oilfield- services company, to run for vice president in 2000. The Cheneys donated $6,869,655 to charity in 2005 from the exercise of these stock options and from book royalties, the White House said.
The Cheneys had $2.47 million withheld from his salary and by their investment managers and are claiming a tax refund of $1.94 million, according to their return, released three days before Monday’s filing deadline.
Donated $6.8 million to charity? Woah. Go Cheny! I give him propps for that move, talk about a straight shooter, heh.
/end cheesy-cheney joke.

Europe: ETA 70 Hours
Yeaaa man. Gettin close. Last night I packed, and I still have so much room in my backpack, I can fit a small child if anyone wants to jump in. Yea things are comin together nice. Woke up this morning and started doing some well needed cleaning ’round here. It was gettin bad. Got my checklist of electronics ready, managed to fit my 20+ rolls of film in and round my camera bag and backpack along with the PSP, iPod and the video cam I still need to give back to adam will probably live in Val’s purse. Heh.
Checking out the weather it doesn’t seem all that bad, a bit of rain in London and Paris, I think Rome and the rest of Italy should be gorgeous tho.
Things are def’ntly looking well, got a beautiful traveling partner, money in my pocket and film in my camera.. what more could I ask. Now it’s off to Mom and Dad’s for the pre-Easter festivities.
