IE7 for XP Already
IEBlog : I want to try IE7 for XP already
Was diggin’ through the morning news’age feeds here at work and saw this post on IEBlog. Looks like we’ll get a taste coming soon.
We’ll post an updated pre-release build of IE7 for Windows XP publicly – no MSDN membership required – during the first calendar quarter of 2006.
Seeing as the last pre-release seemed to be a disaster to most, hopefully this will redeem the dudes at Microsoft I know must be workigna round the clock, they have a lot of slack to pickup seeing as how Firefox 1.5 is dominating.
Ohh, and on that note, I’m in the process of writing my first foxy extension. Soon as I finish with my move to my new place this week and get settled in with my internet working hopefull I can finish it up. Believe me its nothing crazy but hell, its a start.

I can’t tell if you’re looking forward to it or just commenting that it’s coming…
Dean,
Don’t get me wrong, I can’t wait for a stable release! I’m using the developer toolbar now and love it. The quick cache clear-out is awesome. I’m very much looking forward to seeing what will be in the new version, I do check your blog regularly to see all the good stuff you’re pumping out.
The reason I commented as such was because I remember hearing from friends that when they installed the previous release it just wasn’t what they were hoping for, and it seemed like it was just too soon for not being ready. The overall consensus was that it wasn’t worth the effort.
Believe me, I’ll def be there to provide feedback and check my firm’s sites for compliance.
Thanks man,
j
