Where did the week go.
Wow, after Vegas last weekend, being in Westwood for the Ziba Party the last three nights & dinner with Val’s Mom yesterday after work for the official birthday at Claim Jumper (mmmmmm), I can’t effin believe it’s already Friday! Dennis is kickin’ at work, this was his first week and he’s doing great, glad to add on to the team. Our new flash programmer Tim is starting Monday, so it’s pretty much non-stop around here.
Heres playing some catch-up on link’age I’ve been meaning to post for a few. Deep will love this: Digi turntable in a stump, just started getting into Gizmodo recently, lot of good links there.
PSP Downgrader from 2.0 -> 1.5 was released the other day, Sony is pissed
Brady shot me a link to Heavy where he found this video they snagged from the 60’s/70’s. Haha, awesome
FoO blogged about some sweet Ads with Napoleon this morning, found those at this site, be sure to watch them even though they used Real Player for some dammend reason.
Sometimes I feel like setting this keyboard up when you just cant take it, but hell thats why you have pastimes right.
More to come, have a good friday, yo.
Ziba Volume Six
A big congrats to my friends (almost family I’d venture to say) at zibabeauty.com for opening their 6th new store at Westside Pavillion, in Westwood last night. I was there for the opening party and took some shots, I’ll be posting a few more soon. I’ll be heading back up there tonight and tomorrow with Val, hell, free food and beautiful women dressed up in all that insane jewlrey, how can ya beat that?
By the way, anyone checked out the new Google Video Player? On the fly buffering and ondemand download with a no-plugin-mac-pc-compatible-resizes-with-your-browser viewer. Thas Hot.

55 Mile Ice Bridge
I have to say this is a concept a bit over the top. Discovery Channel is pimping the concept of the Bering Strait Bridge which will basically connect Asia & North America with a 55mile bridge. Are they serious? The site tells us that they want to spend X Billion dollars to let eskimos travle back and fourth between countries? Can’t we use that money for something else like Povery, Food, Homelessness, Our National Debt to name a few.. no instead they work 4 months a year to build this beast (it gets chilly round the Arctic Circle you know), and all for Oil/Train shuttles back and fourth. I don’t know about this one.
But, I bet it would make for some KILLER shots.

Rita Tracking from MSN

Pretty nice how MSN Virtual Earth team threw this lil bad-boy together. You can monitor and track the progress of Rita as it comes close to the gulf coast. Zoom into houston for live traffic cams, during the day its sad to see the route out of the city completley bumber to bumper.
Update: Just found a google maps mashup that has some history built in. Nice.

Praying For Family
So my dad pinged me this morning to tell me that my aunt and uncle boarded up their house, threw JJ the dog in the RV and headed up-state texas past Austin to find safer grounds. Apparently I missed the newsbreak that the mayor of Houston ordered voluntary evacuations for the low-lying areas and mandatory for Galveston. Both of them left their jobs, and heading north to escape the winds and pray if this hurricane goes much farther north they dont loose their house, they live right in the projected path.
Rita was just upgraded to category 4 with 140mph winds.
weather.com - Hurricane Central
Hurricane Rita’s rapid intensification cycle that began Tuesday afternoon continues. Top winds are up to 165 mph, now a category 5 hurricane. Further strengthening is possible as the atmosphere remains favorable for development over the next 24 hours.
Rita is forecast to continue on a westward track through the Gulf of Mexico over the next 24 hours. A gradual turn toward the northwest is anticipated Thursday night and Friday. Landfall is possible late Friday or early Saturday along the Texas coast.
It’s pretty hard to believe that right after Katrina this could happen as well, I hope they get rhough this ok, please keep my family and all others affected in your prayers. I took some pictures in Galveston when I was there earlier this year, I’ll try and scrounge a few up.
