Craigslist is a household name


So I was walking back from the bank today at lunch and stoped in at the little frenchie place for some bruschetta. While waiting I grabed the new JANE mag off the rack since i cant find mine from the move *dammit* and got my fill of the dose of great photography they bless us with while the lady in the back was melting my mozzarella.. heh.

Anyways, I was looking at the horoscope in the back (I never check this stuff) and it had a Craigslist reference in the horoscope. At first I lauged but then reaized, wow, do that many people really know about the site that it makes that hardcore of a mainstream reference? So I decided to do a little PR and ask around just because I was that damn curious. Check this out:

  • 9 out of 10 heard of the site
  • 6 out of 10 have been to it
  • 4 out of 10 have actually used it

Now i didn’t just ask people I knew would know, these were friends I catched online or people i talked to that i honestly didnt know what sort of response I’d get. How crazy is that? I suppose I shouldn’t be so supprised, but I never realized how popular that site really is.

heh.. who knew?
