Cheaper iPod, Price boost for Music
The Register published an article this morning regarding the industry rumor that online music retailers are going to issue a price hike for music in the near future. “How Convinent” that Apple just decided to lower it’s player prices..
The music industry is apparently unhappy with Apple’s increasing share of the market - the firm sells about 65 per cent of songs sold online. The arrival of cheaper iPods is likely to give the firm an even larger share of the market. Apple refused to comment on the FT’s story but Steve Jobs is reportedly deeply unhappy with the attempted price hike.
hmmm.. right.
Rappers and Bloggers
MSN just spanked a pretty funny article on Slate: Rappers and Bloggers - Separated at birth!
It’s damned sad but true, although I have to agree with Josh Levin when he says:
Bloggers and rappers are equally obsessed with social networking. Every rapper rolls with his entourage; every blogger rolls with his blog roll.

Flippn’ the Bird
History of Middle Finger.
Giving the Finger:
Before the Battle of Agincourt in 1415, the French, anticipating victory over the English, proposed to cut off the middle finger of all captured English soldiers. Without the middle finger it would be impossible to draw the renowned English longbow and therefore they would be incapable of fighting in the future. This famous weapon was made of the native English Yew tree, and the act of drawing the longbow was known as “plucking the yew” (or “pluck yew”). Much to the bewilderment of the French, the English won a major upset and began mocking the French by waving their middle fingers at the defeated French, saying, See, we can still pluck yew! “PLUCK YEW!” Since ‘pluck yew’ is rather difficult to say, the difficult consonant cluster at the beginning has gradually changed to a labiodentals fricative ‘F’, and thus the words often used in conjunction with the one-finger-salute! It is also because of the pheasant feathers on the arrows used with the longbow that the symbolic gesture is known as “giving the bird.”And yew thought yew knew everything.

Looks like they’re droping the pricing on the iPod soon. I may actually breakdown and buy the damn iPod Photo… I mean the artwork just does it for me.. it’s so convinent to carry my music, but to have the artwork and my photography portfolio in my pocket packaged in a trendy and overplayed lil white box.. cmoonnnn. heh
